Nawaz paid Rs 2.2m tax in 2015, Khursheed Shah Rs 0.11m, Imran Khan Rs 76k

ISLAMABAD: The Finance Ministry Friday released the Tax Directory of the parliamentarians for the year 2015 according to which Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif paid about Rs 2.2 million as tax in the tax year 2015, Opposition Leader Khursheed Ahmed Shah paid Rs 113,740, while Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan paid Rs 76,244.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid over Rs 6.3 million, while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan paid double tax of Rs 25 million as compared with last year’s Rs 12.4m.

Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ghulam Ahmad Bilour paid Rs 34,662, Akram Khan Durrani of Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) paid Rs 86,196.

PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi paid Rs 1,469,068 and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) leader Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao paid Rs 1,723,273 in 2015.

Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rasheed paid Rs 106,105, Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi paid Rs 2,138,530 as tax in 2015, while Finance Minister Ishaq Dar paid Rs 3,913,778 as income tax.

According to the tax directory 2014, PM Nawaz Sharif paid Rs 2.6 million as tax in 2014, while PTI Chairman Imran Khan paid Rs 200,000. Shahbaz Sharif paid Rs 5.1 million while Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan paid Rs. 12.4 million.

Ghulam Ahmad Bilour had paid Rs. 17,271, Akram Khan Durrani paid Rs 18,181, Shah Mahmood Qureshi paid Rs 1,533,731 and Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao paid Rs 1,688,000 in 2014.

In the tax year 2014, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi paid Rs 2,213, while Finance Minister Ishaq Dar paid Rs 2.286,702 as income tax.
