Nawaz says women empowerment imperative for country’s progress

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has says women are the most essential part of our society and their empowerment, protection and emancipation is imperative for progress and development in the country.

He was talking to Member Legislative Assembly Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sehrish Qamar in Islamabad. The prime minister expressed the confidence that the newly-elected lawmakers under the leadership of Raja Farooq Haider will work tirelessly for the progress and prosperity of the people of AJK.

The Prime Minister said “it is our collective responsibility to serve the people who have overwhelmingly shown their trust in our manifesto during the recent elections. He said the federal government will extend all out support to the AJK government to pursue our socio-economic and infrastructure development agenda in AJK. He said that the development projects and welfare schemes to be carried out in AJK will be of same standards as in other parts of the country.”

Sehrish Qamar said that the AJK government is determined to realize the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for progress and prosperity of its people. She said that women in AJK have been facing a number of problems for quite a long time. She would work for educating them besides provision of other necessary facilities so that they can contribute in the progress and development of AJK in a significant manner.
