LAHORE: Nazeer Ahmad Gunjana has taken the charge of special judge in Customs and Taxation Court Lahore as the seat was vacant since January, 2015.
After the transfer of Special Judge Mr Tanveer Akbar as district and sessions judge to Rawalpindi, new judge was not appointed for three months. On the other hand, banking court was assigned the task to hear the cases until the appointment of customs court judge that affected the performance of both courts.
Nazeer Ahmad Gunjana has been working as sessions judge in Lahore as well. The Federal High Court has issued a notification regarding the appointment. On Wednesday, the court staff briefed the new judge about cases.
