WILMINGTON: The North Carolina National Guard will be holding a training exercise at the port facilities in Wilmington. The exercise will take place designed to test the capabilities and coordination of local, state and federal agencies responding to an emergency.
Residents in the area may notice military, emergency response, law enforcement vehicles,National Guard troops in full military uniform as well as the use of military helicopters in the area. During the exercise, the NCNG will work closely with the NC Emergency Management Eastern Branch, Brunswick County Emergency Management, New Hanover County Emergency Management, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the Wilmington Police Department and the State Crime Lab.
