NDP Hiace van valued Rs02m impounded by Islamabad Customs Car Cell

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Car Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad impounded a Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicle Hiace van from Islamabad territory worth Rs2.00million.

According to details told by Chaudhry Safdar, Inspector Car Cell MCC Islamabad, that sources provided the information to the Customs Car Cell that a Hiace van, fraudulently cleared from Sambrial (MCC Sialkot) in amnesty scheme, is roaming in the capital without having genuine documents.
Inspector told Customs Today that the Car Cell formed a squad and reached the place where the van was parked with registration No: LES-9509. The squad asked the possessors to show the documents of the vehicle but they failed to do so. The Car Cell impounded the vehicle and brought it to the State Ware House (SWH).
An FIR has been lodged against the NDP possessors and the case forwarded to the Investigation and Prosecution Department for further action.
