Near Rs 4b released for various water, power projects so far

ISLAMABAD: The government has released a sum of Rs 3929.474 million out of total Rs 161,716.370 million allocated for various water and power projects in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 1st quarter of fiscal year 2016-17.

According to the Planning Commission data, an amount of Rs 3840.274 was released for various water projects against total allocation of Rs 31716.370 so while Rs 69.200 million was released for power projects so far.

A sum of Rs 1000 million was released for Kachhi Canal Project (Phase-I), Rs 600 million for Naji Gaj Dam (Dadu), Rs 100 million for Ranee Canal Phase-I-II and Rs 90 million for Normal Annual Development. A sum of Rs 220 million was released for Makhi Farash Link Canal Project, Rs 90 million for Normal Annual Development Programme, Rs 80 million for lining of distributaries and Minors in Sindh, Rs 60 million for Kurram Tangi Dam, Rs 10 million Gomal Zam Dam, Rs 140 million for construction of Basool dam (Gwadar), Rs 100 million for construction of Small Storage dams (Sindh), Rs 200 million for construction of 100 Delay Action Dams in Balochistan and Rs 20 million for feasibility Study for Water Resources Development through construction of small and medium dams in Balochistan.

Similarly, an amount of Rs 200 million was released for raising of Mangla Dam Project, Rs 167.274 million for Re-construction of Shahi Kour Dam (Gwadar), Rs 180 million for Remodeling of Warsak Canal System in Peshawar and Nowshera and Rs 140 million for Remedial Measures to Control Waterlogging in Muzaffargarh.

A total of Rs 30 million was released for 132KV Sub Stations at Deep Sea Port Gwadar and Rs 39.200 million for 132KV Pasinzai Grid Station.
