Speaking on the occasion, LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Tariq Misbah said that there was a need to equip the Wagha Border with modern equipment to facilitate the businessmen of the two countries.

He said that in the coming years, the volume of two-way trade is bound to go up; therefore, we would have to make necessary arrangements to cope with that situation.

The LCCI Senior Vice President said that the low volume of trade between India and Pakistan needs to be tackled with concerted efforts from both the sides. He said that India and Pakistan should promote regional trade on the pattern of ASEAN, EU, NAFTA, etc. to boost bilateral trade. He said that the promotion of trade is the only way to minimize the political tension in the region.
