AKRON: A full-day seminar featuring updates on Mexican/Canadian customs and the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) is being hosted by NEOTEC, the Kent-headquartered multi-county economic development group on Nov. 12 at the Crowne Plaza Cleveland South in Independence. FirstMerit Bank, headquartered in Akron, and International Risk Consultants are cosponsors of the event.
The seminar, also being hosted by the city of Mentor, will feature the consuls from Canada and Mexico, as well as a former Mexican customs audit official and legal representatives who are experts on Mexican, Canadian and U.S. rules and laws.

NEOTEC, with offices on the campus of Kent State University, oversees two Northeast Ohio trade zones where companies can defer, reduce or avoid customs duties.
