Nepra approves Rs 3.32 per unit cut in power tariff

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Tuesday approved Rs.3.32 per unit reduction in power tariff for May under monthly fuel adjustment formula.

The regulator approved the tariff reduction on a petition filed by Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA).

However, the reduction would not be applicable to the consumers of K-Electric and those who used up to 300 units. The relief would be given in billing of July. The average cost of per unit remained at Rs.3.45 while the consumers were charged Rs.6.77 per unit. The CPPA on behalf of power distribution sought reduction in power tariff owing to reduce fuel prices.
