The consumers of all distribution companies (Discos) except K-Electric and lifeline consumers using less than 50 units would get relief in March.
The Nepra was apprised that 6.57 billion units were sold to the distribution companies during December 2014. The diesel-based power generation cost stood at Rs 19 per unit, furnace oil-based at Rs 12.38, gas-based at Rs 3.57, nuclear at Rs 1.18 per unit and imported energy from Iran at Rs 10.20 per unit, resulting in the saving of Rs 21.6 billion during December.
