ISLAMABAD: The Central Power Purchase Authority (CPPA) has asked the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to slash Rs2.40 per unit for the month of August.
The CPPA, in an application, asked that fuel cost was Rs4.50 on production of 10 billion units electricity sold in August and therefore, Rs2.40 per unit reduction in the power tariff for the month of August should be made under fuel adjustment.
The Nepra will conduct the hearing of the plea for reduction in electricity price on October 10. It is pertinent to mention here that Rs2.19 per unit reduction in the power tariff was also made in the month of July; however, it will not be applicable on the consumers of K-Electric and the consumers consuming less than 50 units per month.
