ISLAMABAD: Another Boeing 777-200 ER aircraft has been added to the Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) fleet, which has increased to 38 aircraft.
According to a PIA spokesman, the new aircraft was purchased on dry lease for the national-flag carrier on November 18.
It is for the first time in the history of PIA that a series of modern aircraft have been added to its fleet in such a short period of time, the PIA chairman stated while commenting on the induction of another Boeing 777 aircraft. He said that induction of the incoming aircraft would further improve the national airline’s passenger carrying capacity.
The aircraft, to be used for both long and short haul flights, would start operating after completion of all formalities later this month.
