IMPERIAL: Rodney S. Scott has been appointed as the new Chief Patrol Agent of the El Centro Sector Border Patrol. Chief Patrol Agent Scott officially enters on duty in his new position Monday, Feb. 22nd, and replaces former Chief Patrol Agent Carla Provost, who was promoted to Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Internal Affairs, and relocated to Washington, D.C.
Prior to his new appointment, Chief Patrol Agent Scott served in the San Diego Sector Border Patrol, where he held the positions of Assistant Chief Patrol Agent, Patrol Agent in Charge of the Brown Field Station, and most recently, Deputy Chief Patrol Agent of the San Diego Sector.Rodney S. His distinguished career in the Border Patrol has included a variety of supervisory, managerial, and leadership positions, including Assistant Chief within the CBP Office of Anti-Terrorism in Washington, D.C., where he served as a principal advisor to the Commissioner and other senior officials on anti-terrorism issues. In 2006, he was promoted to Deputy Executive Director/Associate Chief for the Office of Anti-Terrorism, and in 2007, he was appointed as the Director/Division Chief for the Incident Management and Operations Coordination Division at CBP Headquarters.
Throughout his career, Chief Patrol Agent Scott has been a driving force for innovation, integration, and community engagement. He led several national CBP initiatives, including creation of the CBP Joint Terrorism Taskforce program, the Hurricane Katrina response, the establishment of CBP’s incident management strategy and the CBP Emergency Driving Policy, as well as several border-centric legislative initiatives.

As Chief Patrol Agent of El Centro Sector, Chief Patrol Agent Scott will manage more than 1,000 law enforcement agents and support staff, and will have direct operational oversight of three Border Patrol stations. The El Centro Sector is situated within the Imperial Valley of Southern California, an area of responsibility that spans 70 linear miles along the International Boundary with Mexico; from the Jacumba Mountains in the west, to the Imperial Sand Dunes in the east.
