New International Dry Port Sialkot to boost trade in region

SIALKOT: “New International Dry Port Sialkot” (under construction) Chairman Muhamamd Ishtiaq Lone has said that establishment of new dry port at Sialkot will be a milestone for economical stability of the country.

Talking to the media, he said that the new dry port would be a parallel dry port to the persisting Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and the construction of this new dry port is being completed on war footings.

He added that it would help flourish Pakistan’s exports. It will be the first “Gold Export Triangle” comprising Sialkot, Gujrat and Gujranwala districts.

He said that two dry ports (old dry port and new dry port) at Sialkot being run by the private sector.

Ishtiaq added that the New International Dry Port Sialkot would facilitate the traders, industrialists and  exporters. The importers of the Sialkot region will be equipped with modern technology to process import and export documents. Besides, the dry port will offer attractive packages and related services on cheaper rates as compared to the Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT).

Earlier, addressing to a meeting of the members of new dry port, Ishtiaq Lone declared that new dry port would open the new doors of socio-economic and human development in Sialkot region.

On this occasion, the Founder of New International Dry Port Sialkot Abdul Qadir Saddal announced that they would facilitate people of Sialkot region with other facilities of healthcare and infrastructure development.

Other Executive Members Shaukat Ali, Rehman ul Haq, Rana Dilshad Ahmed, Muhammad Younas Saddal, Muhammad Khalid Mughal, Abdul Waheed, Ameer Imtiaz Dar, Zulfiqar Ahsan Bhatti, Sheikh Qaisar Mehmood, Ghulam Sarwar Butt, Muhammad Sadique Bhatti, Haseeb Ahmed Bhatti, Rana Asif Khan and Usman Haq also addressed the meeting.
