ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has introduced a new and simplified electricity bill format across the country to improve consumer convenience, transparency and access to billing information.
The new design has been issued by DISCOs on the instructions of the Ministry of Energy and aims to make electricity bills easier to read for consumers of all categories.
The Power Division said the new electricity bill format is an important step toward providing relief and convenience to consumers.
According to officials, the bill has been redesigned to help consumers better understand their electricity usage, bill amount, due date and payment information.
The new format has been developed with a focus on simplicity, transparency and improved user experience.
Old bill format difficult to understand
According to the Power Division, the previous electricity bill format had become difficult for consumers due to unnecessary information, technical terms and a complex layout.
Officials said the redesign was carried out after receiving complaints from consumers. The new format was also prepared in the light of suggestions received from consumers and various stakeholders.
Key details now displayed prominently
In the redesigned electricity bill, the total amount, due date and electricity consumption details have been displayed more prominently. Consumers will now be able to see their usage, bill details and payment information more clearly.
The Power Division said the updated design will allow consumers to understand their complete billing status at a glance.
Under the new facility, a QR code has also been included in electricity bills. Consumers will be able to scan the QR code to access additional information and digital services instantly.
The feature is aimed at improving access to online services and making the billing system more consumer-friendly.
Reform process to continue
The Power Division said the new electricity bill format has been made more understandable for consumers of all classes.
Officials added that the process of improving transparency, service delivery and reforms in the power sector will continue.
