LAHORE: Newly imposed tax on registration of motor vehicles has been challenged in the Lahore High Court by Azhar Sadique Advocate.
The Lahore High Court has sought a reply from the federal government on the application on June 18, 2015. The case is scheduled for hearing in the court of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah.
The applicant argued before the court that the government has no authority to impose new taxes on things that are already under tax net. He said that the government is already collecting huge taxes on registration of vehicles every year so the imposition of new taxes on registration of vehicles is illegal.
The Lahore High Court has asked for the government reply on the next haring of the case. The federal government has imposed a new tax in all provinces on registration of new vehicles which is widely criticized by the social entities.
