JAKARTA: The all-new Toyota Innova (2016) has been finally launched in Indonesia at a starting price of IDR 282 million, while India is still waiting for its arrival. With this, Indonesia has become the first market to receive the new-generation model of the MPV. As reported earlier, the company is planning to unveil the new Toyota Innova at the upcoming 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in February followed by its launch sometime by the end of the same year.

For people not in the know, the new-generation Toyota Innova is built on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform which is the same that will underpin the new-generation Fortuner. The new platform is lighter yet stiffer than the old platform.

Though the vehicle receives an entirely new design, most significant updates have been given upfront. The front fascia of the all-new Toyota Innova gets an all hexagonal grille which is bigger in size and comes with dual chrome slats, newly designed bumper, all-new projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, and fog lamps. The vehicle’s side profile gets a redesigned last row glass area, all-new wheel arches, new alloy wheels and chromed window line. The vehicle’s rear profile also looks quite different with the vertical tail-lamps and all-new bumper. With all the aforementioned changes, the new-generation Toyota Innova 2016 looks edgier than the current-gen model.
