New Volvo S60 T6 to compete against BMW 3 Series 328i, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class

NEW DELHI: Volvo will launch the petrol version of the S60 T6 on July 3, 2015. The diesel variants of the sedan D4 and D5 are already on sale in India. Similar to its diesel counterpart, the Volvo S60 T6 petrol will be brought via CBU (completely built-up) route.

Powering the S60 T6 petrol will be a new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that is boasted with direct injection fuel supply technology. This powertrain will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that will help the car to develop a maximum power of 306bhp with 400Nm of torque. The pre-facelift model, on the other hand, was offered with a 3.0-litre straight-six engine that churns out 304bhp with 440Nm of torque.

Unlike the previous AWD model, the new S60 T6 will get the front-wheel drivetrain system. Volvo claims that the new S60 T6 will be faster than the old one. It will be capable to attain 0-100kmph in 5.9 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 230kmph. The S60 T6 petrol will continue to feature the ‘designed around you’ philosophy.

Features on offer could be active bending headlights with LED daytime running lights, a sunroof, digital TFT instrument cluster, a 7-inch infotainment system, electronic climate control system, leather seats and park assist.

The new Volvo S60 T6 will compete against the BMW 3 Series 328i, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The sedan is likely to be priced around Rs. 35 lakh.
