WELLINGTON: Four tourists may be staying in New Zealand longer than they expected after being caught allegedly carrying 12 kilograms of methamphetamine into the country.
Two men and one woman appeared in Manukau District Court today charged with importing a class A drug.
The crime carries a possible sentence of life imprisonment.
They were pulled up at Auckland International Airport on Saturday by Customs officers who allegedly found more than $12 million worth of the drug hidden in their suitcases.
