New Zealand dollar falls against major currencies in Asian trade

WELLINGTON: The New Zealand dollar weakened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Wednesday.

The NZ dollar fell to a 2-day low of 1.0992 against the Australian dollar, from yesterday’s closing value of 1.0960.

Against the US dollar, the yen and the euro, the kiwi dropped to 0.6653, 81.77 and 1.5963 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 0.6673, 81.98 and 1.5913, respectively.

If the kiwi extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 1.11 against the aussie, 0.64 against the greenback, 79.00 against the yen and 1.63 against the euro.
