CANTERBURY: An ounce of methamphetamine worth almost $30,000 has been seized in a police raid on a Canterbury home.
A 38-year-old man from Kaiapoi, North Canterbury, appeared in the Christchurch District Court afternoon charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and possession of drug utensils.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested said about an ounce of methamphetamine, with a street value of $28,000, was seized from a Kaiapoi property on Friday morning along with an ounce of cannabis, drug utensils and a number of prescription medicines.
“We want everyone to feel safe in their homes, neighbourhoods and communities and removing drugs such as these will help prevent the crime and social harm associated with this illegal activity,” Quested said.
Police investigations are continuing.
