Newly posted officers starts performing at Customs I&I

LAHORE: The newly posted customs officers at the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore have started doing work at their new offices. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has posted three new deputy and assistant collectors at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation.

The officers who were posted at the Customs I&I included Assistant Director Zeb Ali, Deputy Director Itrat Hussain and Saeed Wattoo. Zeb Ali and Itrat have been transferred from Karachi, while Saeed Wattoo was transferred from Adjudication Department of the Customs House, Lahore.

According to the information received, the newly posted officers will look after various affairs of the directorate. Assistant Director Ali Zeb will look after matters related to auction of goods, like vehicles and other items, while Saeed Wattoo and Itrat Hussain will look after anti-smuggling operations in the Customs Preventive and Customs Appraisement departments, respectively.

Earlier, Deputy Director Salman Afzal was look after matters related to smuggling, however he has been transferred to Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Port Qasim. It may be mentioned here that the Directorate of Customs Intelligence is still working without a director, as Saud Imran is currently on training a programme under the 105th National Management Course (NMC), which will continue until November.
