LAHORE: As many as 112 newly recruited sepoys have joined their respective stations throughout Punjab, with a resolve to serve the state in the best possible manner.
It was a significant event in the history of Pakistan Customs when almost 112 newly recruited sepoys from all the directorates and collectorates of the central region passed out from the two-month specialised academic training programme for customs sepoys at Lahore. The training was arranged by the Directorate General of Training and Research (Customs) Lahore in collaboration with the Civil Defence Training School.
It was exclusively designed for the customs sepoys by the DGTR (Customs) Karachi and was duly approved by the Board. The sepoys were taught customs bylaws, rules and procedures. In addition to other relevant modules, they were also trained for disaster management, bomb disposal and other safety and security techniques by the Civil Defence authorities.
A passing-out ceremony took place at the Civil Defence Training School Lahore on 14-02-2017. Ghulam Ahmed, Director General, DGTR (Customs) Karachi, was the chief guest while Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah, Collector Appeals, Mohammad Sadiq, Collector MCC, Appraisement Lahore, Zulfiqar Younas, Collector MCC Preventive Lahore, Sarfaraz Ahmed Warraich, Collector MCC Multan, Ahmed Rauf, Director PCA, Faiz Ali, Additional Collector MCC Sialkot, Liaquat Ali Malik, Commandant Civil Defence Training School and Capt Rai Nazir Ahmad Kharal, Additional Unit Commandant, Bomb Disposal Unit, along with other officers were special guests.
The newly recruited sepoys took oath of loyalty to the state and Pakistan Customs and showed a passing-out parade to the guests, followed by certificate distribution ceremony. The prominent sepoys were awarded certificates of achievement in their respective fields. The sepoys interviewed lauded the efforts of the DGTR (Customs) Lahore for imparting to them a very effective training. They especially thanked Saima Shahzad, Director DGTR (Customs) Lahore, and Kanwal Ali, Deputy Director DGTR (Customs), for their constant mentoring and support. Ahmed Yar Bhatti, Inspector DGTR (Customs) Lahore, was also awarded a certificate of appreciation for his meritorious services.
