Next generation iPhone 6s appears online with pink hue

NEW YORK: Newly ‘leaked’ images of what is claimed to be the iPhone 6s depict a pink body. The photos of what is claimed to be the next generation iPhone 6s have appeared online, sporting a new pink hue.

Rumours Apple is working on a rose gold handset have been circulating for a while now. The images, posted by Chinese rumour site Daliulian.net appear to show boxed pinkish iPhones, along with some close-up shots.

There is no way to test the validity of the images, but rose gold is a colour likely to sell well within the eastern markets Apple is currently attempting to grow its market share in.

Chief executive Tim Cook has previously mused that the new iPhone colour could be dictated by the taste of customers in specific regions. The decision to offer a gold iPhone in 2013 reflects in part the popularity of that colour among Chinese users, he added.

The launch of Apple’s latest iPhone is always one of the most hyped events in the technology calendar and, this year, rumours suggest the iPhone 6s (or 7) will launch on 8 or 9 September.

The new model will run iOS 9, the latest version of Apple’s software for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, which was announced at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in early June.

Updates and features include Siri becoming more proactive in recognising your behaviour, longer battery life and improvements to existing apps including Maps and Notes.

The iPhone 7 (or 6s) is expected to look very similar to the iPhone 6, and come in the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch size variants.
