Nigeria Customs destroys poultry products worth N15m in Edo

BENIN: The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operation Unit, Zone C, on Wednesday in Benin destroyed 1, 500 cartons of imported frozen products valued at N15 million.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Azarema Abudulkadir, an Assistant Comptroller and made available to newsmen.

According to the statement, the imported frozen poultry products have a Duty of N3million and Duty Paid Value of N18 million.

“The items were conveyed in a truck with registration number LND 687 XV and seized by officers and men of NIS on Tuesday along Benin-Ekaidolor axis at about 4 p.m.

“The items were destroyed at Customs House destruction site in compliance with Federal Government’s policy on importation of frozen products (chicken and turkey),’’ the statement added.
