Nikon D610 vs. Canon EOS 6D Camera let’s find out which one takes lead?

NEW DELHI: Nikon and Canon have come up with tremendous numbers of effective offerings. The Nikon D610 released in March 2014 and the Canon EOS 6D launched in February 2013, are mid-size SLR cameras with full frame-sized sensors. The two devices are efficient, but let’s find out which one takes a lead when the horns are locked.

The Nikon D610 features a CMOS, full frame sensor that offers image capturing at 24 MP resolutions. It is 35.9 x 24 mm sensor which can cover an area of 861.60 mm2 at a resolution of 6016 x 4016 and light sensitivity of 25,600 ISO. On the contrary, the Canon EOS 6D has a maximum resolution of 20 MP. It is a CMOS type camera with 36 x 24 mm sensor that covers up to 864 mm2. This device provides the light sensitivity of 102,400 and captures images at 5472 x 3648 resolutions. Moreover, both the cameras support RAW format and features sensor cleaning functionality.

Winner:  Nikon D610

Build

As for the dimensions, the Nikon D610 measures 141 x 113 x 82 mm, in comparison to Canon’s 145 x 111 x 71 mm. The EOS 6D is 11 mm thinner, 2 mm shorter and 2 mm wider than the Nikon camera. When it comes to weight, the D610 hits the scales at 850 g. On the contrary, the EOS 6D weighs 770 g, which makes it 9.4% lighter than its competitor. Overall, the Canon device is more convenient to carry for long periods of time.

The Nikon device has a 3.2-inch fixed type LCD screen that displays images at a resolution of 921k dots. In contrast, the Canon EOS 6D features a fixed LCD screen of 3 inches with 1,040k dots resolution.

Winner: Canon EOS 6D

Lens

Being two mid-size SLR cameras, these devices come loaded with interchangeable lens options. This is a remarkable offering as it enables the users to select and use the most appropriate lens. With that said, the D610 is compatible with 236 lenses, whereas the EOS 6D supports 185 lenses. The lens availability difference of 51 lenses clearly reflects the Nikon device as the more preferable of the two cameras.

Winner: Nikon D610

To sum it up, the Nikon D610 provides more powerful specifications than the Canon EOS 6D. Alternatively, the Canon EOS 6D overshadows its competitor in appearance.
