NEW YORK: Nintendo recently announced that Nintendo 64 titles will be making their way on Wii U soon. Not only this, but the company will also allow DS titles to make their way on the console. This means fans can now play classics like ‘Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks’ and ‘Super Mario 64’ on their Wii U’s.

Currently, thanks to backwards compatibility and virtual console, Wii U offers fans the opportunity to play all generations of Nintendo games except for GameCube.

GameCube had some of the best games that Nintendo has come out to date, featuring classics that fans still recall. However, the success of these games was limited thanks to the poor showing GameCube had when compared to its rivals, PS2 and Xbox.

Given the poor response Wii U has had since its launch, bringing GameCube games to the virtual console will help the console a great deal. It will allow Wii U to become Nintendo’s definitive console, furthermore fans will be able to play classics like ‘Legend of Zelda: Twillight Princess’ and ‘Super Smash Bros. Melee’.

Moreover, thanks to the GameCube controller adapter, fans can play their GameCube games with the same controller. Nintendo has done a good job in recent times, when it comes to listening to the demands of fans. It released ‘Majora’s Mask’, ‘Mewtwo’, and offered free to play gaming on the demands of many fans.

Hardcore Nintendo fans love GameCube. However, even newcomers will be inclined to buy a Wii U, if this functionality is to be added into the future. Wii U’s processing abilities allow immense possibilities, and the lack of desire from consumers willingness to buy the product, could end with features like these. Fans can soon expect to play classic GameCube titles at some point in the future, however we are reliant on Nintendo’s willingness more than anything else.
