A downward shift in term structure also benefited income funds managed by NIT. The assets under management for NIT-Government Bond Fund (NIT-GBF) increased 88 percent to Rs.7.9 billion as on 31st December 2014, from Rs.4.2 billion as on 30th June 2014. Exposure to long-dated Pakistan Investment Bonds enabled the income funds to realize capital gains, due to decrease in interest rates during the period.
