NLC reduces charges for air, road & rail transportation to facilitate businessmen

LAHORE: The National Logistic Cell is providing freight forwarding, cargo handling services, containers, dry ports at the borders and it has reduced the charges for air, road and rail to further facilitate the business community.

NLC Chief Executive Officer Col Abdul Qayyum (r) stated this while speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Tuesday. Officer Commanding Dry Port, NLC Lahore, Major Muhammad Faisal Butt (Retd) also spoke on the occasion.

He said that the NLC wants to further collaborate with business community through Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Emphasizing the need of communication and interaction, he said, that the aim is to facilitate the importers and exporters affordable cheap rates of transportation give further boost to the trade and trading community of Lahore, a rail-fed port facility has been planned to be established in the close proximity of leading importers and exporters of the region.

LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah ur Rehman said the businessmen belonging to upcountry have to face a number of issues while clearing their consignments. Freight systems including, road, air, seas and rail need to be up to the task and should be evolved on modern grounds and the National Logistics Cell (NLC) is providing services on professional grounds. He said the businessmen demand an efficient system so they do not have to wait for extra days for taking their shipments to godowns.
