KABUL: To facilitate passengers and keep check on evading custom duty, the National Logistic Cell (NLC) terminal has started work at the Torkham border where all kind of facilities, including custom clearance have been made available.
This terminal has been completed with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The terminal has been constructed over 432 kanal of land to the tune of Rs9 billion. The terminal has the facilities of Customs station, baggage scanner, walkthrough gates, display centre, warehouse, weight station and banks.
In the first phase of the project, passage cards will be issued to the persons coming from Afghanistan and for this purpose, the office of National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) and FIA has started work. Through the NLC terminal, Pakistani goods will have access to the Central Asian Countries and even to Europe via Peshawar-Torkham Road.
