No corrupt official will be spared in Customs Dept: Gul Rahman

PESHAWAR: The Collector Customs, Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar, has said that no effort will be spared to take action against the corrupt officials.

Collector Customs Gul Rahman said this while talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Customs at his office at the MCC Peshawar on Wednesday.

He added that corruption has become a very hot issue of the present hour due to increase of foreign debate on Pakistan.

The Collector Custom was informed of the situation of construction at Azakhel Nowshehra Dry Port and Ghulam Khan Customs Checkpost at North Waziristan.

The Collector Customs was also told by the Customs officials about delay in the customs clearing procedure by some private airlines for which the Collector Customs has issued directions to talk to airplanes’ carriage provider about the queries of importers.

Collector Customs Gul Rahman said the Federal Government has asked the Chairman FBR about the appointment of corrupt Customs officials on the vital posts upon which the Chairman FBR has directed strict orders to high-ups of Pakistan Customs to keenly observe the activities of the Customs officers.

The Collector Customs expressed surprise over the decision to reject the increase in Regulatory Duty by the KP Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
