No Protocol for anyone at JIAP directed

KARACHI: The higher authority of the Pakistan Customs has directed the officials for not providing any kind of protocols to any distinguished guest or any VIP personalities.

According to the details, in the notification issued by office of the additional collector of Customs Collectorate of Preventive it has been directed to all the customs officers that any kind of protocol or a helping hand would be provided to any distinguished guest or any VIP personalities at the Jinnah International Airport (JIAP).

It has also been directed that the standing order is issued in continuation of earlier instructions regarding checking of goods / baggage of the passengers at airports. Whereas, it is reiterated that there would be no protocols by the customs staff to passengers at deputed at Karachi Airport by any means.

The baggage of the passengers will also be checked as per standard of procedure and profiling of passengers without consideration of protocols by any other agency.

The staff deputed at the Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) are also directed to strictly implement the instructions and any negligence in this regard shall be viewed seriously.

The copy of the notification has been sent to The Chief Collector of Customs (Enforcement-South), Custom House, Karachi, Collector, Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive, Customs House Karachi and to the Deputy Collector of Customs, Jinnah International Airport Karachi along with all concern Officers.

Its worth mentioning here that earlier various complaints were registered against the officers to providing helping hand and giving protocol to the well-known people, relatives and other.
