KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index lost 683.20 points or 2.12 percent to reach 31470.97 points and volume of 120,375,540 shares on Thursday.
The privately held companies seem to have become more interested in going public of late. Bearish activity was witnessed at the KSE amid profit-taking in oil stocks after fall in crude prices.
Till midday, KSE-100 Index was at 31643.57 with a change of -510.60 and volume of 78,447,380 shares.
High and Low were 32154.17 and 31364.13 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 119,116,330 shares with 279 total traded companies out of which 27 were up, 247 were down and 5 were unchanged.
On Wednesday, market started with positive note and sheds all the gains in last session as benchmark KSE-100 index lost another 111.48 points to drop to 32154.17 points level at closing.
High and low were 32154.17 and 31364.13 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 120,375,540 shares.
