 Court grants physical remand of suspect in non-customs paid vehicle case

LAHORE: The duty judge of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved a three-day physical remand of a suspect, who was arrested by the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) in non-customs paid vehicle case.

The court handed Aftab Ahmad over to the investigation team for three days to investigate regarding the smuggled vehicle.

The Lahore ASO had impounded a Mitsubishi Pajero on Ghazi Road, sources told Customs Today . The vehicle was impounded by ASO inspector Sajad Bukhari on the instructions of Superintendent Mumtaz Ajmal Mian. The market value of the seized Pajero is Rs 1.7 million.

The owner had reportedly failed to produce the required documents. After his failure, the ASO team seized the vehicle and registered a case against the suspect.
