Non-Duty-Paid Hino truck impounded by Faisalabad Customs

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad has taken into possession an imported used Hino truck. The market value of the vehicle is Rs4.5million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs1.6million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Model Customs Faisalabad Mirza Mubashir Baig received a tip-off about the above said smuggled vehicle. Soon after receiving the secret info, he formed a raiding team comprising Tanveer Raza Naqvi (Superintendent), Hafiz Muhammad Waqas, Shah Nawaz, Farhan (Inspectors), Muhammad Yasin, Abdul Sattar, Zulfiqar Ali Wahla, Zulfiqar Ali Awan (Sepoys).

The team intercepted a Hino truck with registration No: OKS-16-512, Model 2001, near Haveli of Rana Shehbaz Charaghabad, village Nawa Lahore Gojra. The team asked the owner of the truck identified as Rana Shahbaz to provide the legal documents of the possession of the smuggled truck, but he failed to do so.

The ASO team impounded the vehicle and registered a case against the accused persons and also forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
