Non-Duty-Paid Hino truck taken into possession by Sargodha Customs on tip-off

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha impounded a foreign origin Hino dumper truck. The market value of the vehicle is Rs6.7million involving customs duties and taxes of Rs2.7million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Model Customs Faisalabad Mirza Mubashir Baig received a tip off about the above said smuggled vehicle.

Soon after receiving the secret information, he formed a raiding team comprising Choudhary Sardar Muhammad (Superintendent), Inspectors Malik Atif Mumtaz, Bashir Ahmed, Sepoys Muhammad Mansha, Naeem Ullah Shafqat, Mehmood Muhammad, Muhammad Iqbal and Hafiz Nasir Ahmed.

The ASO team intercepted the said truck with registration No: MII-15-431, Model 1978, near Bhera Road Bhalwal, district Sargodha. The team asked the trucker, identified as Zafar Iqbal son of Dost Muhammad, to provide the legal documents of the possession of contraband goods, but he failed to do so.

The ASO team took into possession the Hino dumper and registered a case against the nominated accused and also forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
