Non-Duty-Paid Mercedes Benz valued Rs600000 impounded by Hyderabad ASO

HYDERABAD: The Customs’ Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a foreign origin non-duty-paid Mercedes Benz car modelled 1998 worth Rs600000 involving duty taxes of Rs840000 during an action in the locality of Latifabad at Hyderabad.

The ASO team, following the instructions of Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Hyderabad Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq under the supervision of Additional Collector Rehmatullah Vistro, conducted a raid to impound the vehicle.

The ASO team, comprising Inspectors Asadudin Mirza Iqbal Mughal and others, intercepted the Mercedes Benz with registration No: 345 in the locality of Latifabad at Hyderabad.

The official asked the driver to prove the legal possession and import of the vehicle but he failed to do so. The team impounded the vehicle following the bylaws of the customs.
