MONTGOMERY: A lengthy investigation into an alleged heroin trafficking organization based in Huntsville has led to charges against four people.
The Huntsville Police Department reported that its SWAT team, along with agents from the Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force (STAC), the Decatur Police Department, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the DEA executed four search warrants simultaneously Tuesday at four separate locations within the city.
More than 500 grams of heroin worth about $160,000 on the street was seized during the searches, the department said. Agents also found three firearms, oxycodone pills, ecstasy and more than $5,500 in cash.
Three people were arrested during the raid and a fourth is currently being sought. Alaney Joy Buie, 22, is being sought for distribution of heroin, conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime and possession of drug paraphernalia.
