ALABAMA: New and existing business owners in north Alabama can participate in a free tax workshop this month with the state Department of Revenue. The event will take place at Sept. 22 at the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County on 225 Church St. N.W.
Workshop topics will include employer withholding taxes, state and local sales taxes, property taxes, and business licensing requirements Officials will also provide an overview of Alabama’s free ONE SPOT program, an Internet filing and payment portal that allows business taxpayers to file and pay state, county, and city sales, use, and rental taxes in one place.
“This is a great opportunity to keep current and future business owners up to date with law changes, and it gives them a chance to ask experts particular questions relating to their business,” the department said.
