ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region, which comprises four Model Customs Collectorates (MCCs) including MCC Islamabad, MCC Samberial, MCC Peshawar and MCC Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), generated Rs33.46million extra Sales Tax (ST) during 1st to 10th of August Financial Year (FY) 2017-18 against the corresponding period of FY16-17.
According to details explained by sources of Customs North Region to Customs Today, the MCC Peshawar earned Rs202.92million as ST during 1 to 10 August FY17-18 while it did Rs166.35million of ST during the same period of previous FY16-17.
The sources told CT that the MCC Islamabad received Rs214.81million during 1st to 10th of August against the collection of Rs241.95million as ST during the same period of FY16-17. During above said period of FY17-18, the MCC Samberial got Rs7.75million of ST while it did Rs10.95million under the same head during 1st to 10th of August of FY16-17.
The sources further said the MCC GB generated Rs70.94million of ST during 1st to 10th of August FY17-18 while it did Rs43.71million as ST during the same period of FY2016-17.
