OSLO: Norwegian gas flows to Britain and continental Europe were broadly steady on Tuesday morning despite several outages, data from gas system operator Gassco showed. Gas flows to Europe were running at 331 million cubic metres (mcm) per day by 0845 GMT, up 3 mcm from volumes delivered on Monday. An unexpected outage because of compressor failure cut output from the Aasgard field by 11.6 mcm/day early and was expected to last for 24 hours.
In addition, planned one-day maintenance reduced export capacity to Britain’s St Fergus terminal by 19 mcm/day, with real-time flows falling by 6 mcm/day on Tuesday morning. The reduction was partly offset by higher deliveries to Britain via the Langeled and FLAGS pipelines. Norway has total gas pipeline capacity of about 350 mcm per day.
