OSLO: Speaking at a meeting with Norwegian Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Fisheries Dilek Ayhan, Director of National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) Ali Akbar Safaei said implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has paved the way for further cooperation between the two countries; “currently, NITC holds partnership with numerous Norwegian companies in supplying ship parts and equipment as well as insurance areas while these ties will hopefully become deepened.”

Safaei pointed to vast reservoirs of natural gas inside the country asserting “Iran holds comprehensive plans for gas production and exports.” The official expressed NITC’s readiness to cooperate with the European country in transporting LNG shipments; “bunkering remains as yet another venue for cooperation with Norwegian firms.”
