OSLO: A Norwegian company is moving into the old Langford Furniture building at the corner of Military and Bluecutt roads.

Chris Chain, a Columbus-based developer, confirmed this week that Loxy Inc. plans on locating one of its printing facilities inside the 6,000 square foot building, which has been empty since Langford Furniture closed last year after 50-plus years in business.

Loxy is based in Halden, Norway. According to the company’s website, it “provides the garment industry with safety and seam sealing solutions.”

It is unclear exactly what type of facility will be located at 2012 Military Road, but renovations are ongoing. Kenny Wiegel, city building official, told The Dispatch that crews are currently removing non-load bearing walls inside the building; creating office spaces; installing two restrooms; and installing a new heating and cooling system.

We were unable to speak with a Loxy representative in Norway. An opening date is unknown. Loxy has been in business for more than 40 years.  Over in Starkville, there is a new boutique.

Cobo’s Boutique opened on Cotton Mill Drive, beside Maroon & Co., on Saturday. The owners are Courtney and Bob Frisby — they combined their first names to come up with the boutique’s name.
