LONDON: Norwegian gas exports to Europe rose from the previous day, as higher deliveries to France and Belgium more than offset a slight decline in flows to Britain and Germany.
Pipeline flows were running at a rate of 292 million cubic metres (mcm) per day by 0815 GMT, 9 mcm up from volumes delivered on Wednesday, data from gas system operator Gassco
showed. Supplies to Britain eased by 4 mcm/day to 55 mcm/day on lower deliveries through the Langeled pipeline.
The Langeled flows are expected to run at a rate of about 25 mcm/day until May 19, when Norway’s second-biggest gas field, Ormen Lange, is to shut for planned maintenance until early.
July, analysts at Thomson Reuters Point Carbon said. During this period Langeled flows could be very low or even
zero,” the analysts said. Norway has a total gas production capacity of about 350
mcm/day, but it is usually lower during summer months when
maintenance takes place.
