Viber claims to have more than 460 million users who text, make HD-quality phone and video calls, and send photo and video messages worldwide over WiFi or 3G.

The new version of Viber is available now on the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later.

Viber was updated in mid-November with optimizations for iOS 8 including support for interactive notifications and a share extension.

Other recent enhancements of note to the app include support for video calling, a new Public Chats feature, and integration with mobile games.
