Officer arrested for attempting to smuggle mobile phone, cigarettes in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY: A female prison officer was arrested for attempting to smuggle a mobile phone and cigarettes for a female inmate of the women’s prison. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the General Department of Public Relations and Media Security explained that the General Department for Prison Affairs and Sentences Enforcement caught the female prison officer in possession of a mobile phone and cigarettes. She confessed that she was planning to give them to a female inmate.

A case was registered against her and she was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, seven Kuwaiti citizens were arrested for hunting birds in prohibited locations and in private properties. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the General Department of Public Relations and Media Security explained that the bird hunters were arrested during a campaign launched on Salmi Road.

They were referred to the Environment Police for necessary legal action. The department warned the people of Kuwait against bird hunting in prohibited areas and private properties. And, police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing the car of a Kuwaiti which was parked in front of his house in Fintas, reports Al-Rai daily.

The victim has filed a complaint with Fintas Police Station and when he showed the CCTV footage taken by the camera installed in his house, the picture shows the suspect breaking the side glass and driving off with the vehicle.
