Detailed report of pending, adjudicated cases submitted to Adjudication-I collector

KARACHI: The officers, including additional collectors, deputy collectors and assistant collectors, of the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I, have submitted the detail of cases which have been adjudicated during the last three months or are pending before Collector of Customs Adjudication-I Asif Marghoob Siddiqui.

According to details, a total of 85 cases were being adjudicated during the last three months at different levels in which billions of rupees have been recovered by issuing Order-in-Originals (ONOs) to the different importers and clearing agents.

The sources informed Customs Today that the Collector of Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I Asif Marghoob Siddiqui was also asked the officials of the Collectorate to compile a list of the cases which are being pending in the premises of the Collectorate since long and reach towards the expiry date which is 90 days, so that those cases could be taken on urgent basis for adjudication.

It may be mentioned here that the Collector-Asif Marghoob Siddiqui while taking the charge of the Collectorate was called on a meeting of the officers of the Collectorate and asked them to present a detailed record of the cases which have been adjudicated during the last three months and which are in pending into the different offices.

The sources further informed that around 100 cases are in pending during the last three months and not yet adjudicated at different level altogether.

It is necessary to mention here that the officers of the Collectorate, during a week time have submitted a report regarding the cases which have been adjudicated as per directives of the Collector-Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I.
