AC Musakhel updates FBR of rise in smuggling activities

KARACHI: Assistant Commissioner of Musakhel through a letter has informed FBR Chairman, Member Customs and other high authorities of Pakistan Customs about the rising incidents of smuggling of Iranian diesel/petrol, arms and ammunition and other contrabands from Musakhel to other parts of the country.

In a letter, Assistant Commissioner disclosed that the smuggling of aforementioned contrabands was on the rise, while causing loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer.

He further revealed that the officials of Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) were also involved and patronizing the smugglers in their illegal activities.

“The smuggled contrabands are being brought to Musakhel in Punjab and then moved to other parts of the country with the collusion of law enforcement officials,” he stated.

Furthermore, Assistant Commissioner sought effective and result oriented efforts from FBR authorities on war-footings in order to curb the illegal activities and to save the loss of billions of rupees to national exchequer.
