Offshore companies: FBR sends notices to Imran Khan, Aleem, Jahangir, Monis

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a notice to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and others over their alleged offshore companies.

According to official sources, the revenue authority has already sent notices to hundreds of Pakistani citizens for having offshore companies abroad. “The FBR is widening the scope of its investigations of offshore entities owned by Pakistani nationals and their secret bank accounts,” the sources said.

The FBR sought details from Imran Khan regarding his offshore entities under Section 176 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.

Meanwhile, the revenue authority has also sent informal letters to PTI leaders Aleem Khan and Jahangir Tareen, along with three children. A letter has also been written to Monis Ilahi.
