ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) Thursday announced that its crude oil production had touched the highest level of 48,767 barrels per day (bpd).

Despite a phenomenon of growth stagnation in crude oil production during the last five years, it said, now the production was likely to improve in the coming months after completion of ongoing projects Pakistan’s total crude oil production is 85,000 bpd and OGDCL’s share is more than 57 percent.

“The crude oil production achieved by OGDCL has never been matched by any foreign or local E&P company operating in Pakistan,” the company claimed, adding that its engineers and workers did a commendable job and were vigorously pursuing even higher goals. The credit for this record production, it said, also went to the company’s board and management for developing an effective growth oriented strategy during a challenging period when oil and gas sector was under tremendous pressure.
